Finally got ‘my’ prowl. Thank you Gcreations for making rebel. He’s an amazing figure out of the box and even more spectacular when he’s in his alt mode. But lets get on to the review.
I am gonna be up front a few bad things. One is the instruction second is the ‘UH-OHs’. I found out during the seven transformation thing I always do. The instruction are not ‘crystal’ clear about the transformation when you get to the lower body.
The QC I found is this right here.
This due to the Gcreation plastic squeak when the instructions instructed that this hinge should be flushed. Due the QC, dud here this is what happened during the transformation. Have no fear I talked over with the good ole Dr. Killinger, about this issue. If this thing breaks I can swap it out. So far I am being tolerant betwixt careful when I manage him.
His articulation is nothing like Fumma. Not a bad thing, Rebel can do what his mold allows him to do.
Rebel is solid figure. He doesn’t feel cheap, he’s well made and one cool face sculpt. Also the armored car mode is dead on.
Furthermore Rebel is built more for action posing and beat down poses.
If you’re G1 stickler don’t waste your time. If you prefer updated transformers, boom this is the figure for you. Despite my dud an a half figure, He’s not bad at all. I am not ripping the figure just being brutally honest. Don’t let my not so perfect change your mind on picking one up. If you interested in picking rebel just go to GCI Toys and pick one up.
As for rating I am giving Rebel a solid 9. Yeah I took one point of because of the QC I encountered. Thanks for reading.
Good evening everyone. I finally get this SFX gallery for Shuraking completed. I have himin some new poses but I am showing off SFX. I just put together some special effects that I know would work with him. Please Enjoy, comment and like.
Good evening and happy Holidays. Spent some time today posing Shuraking, I know , I know and I go on and on about how important it is to play with bigger combiners, to work out the kinks.
One thing I am just burned to a crisp about is the constant bitching about Shuraking wobble and people disappointed at this investment, to hearing Shuraking is just for the shelf. In reality he’s not and he’s not for the shelf collectors out and about. This ‘big’ freak you have to work with. However you have to invest some time, better yet anywhere from 45 minutes to hours, well that’s me if you’re a freak like I am.
During play time betwixt shooting I found some ways to get Shuraking to pose right to hold dynamic to dramatic poses. First thing I do is pop the arms off and position the feet.
Second took advantage of the knee ratchets along with the connector ratchet as well. The key thing here folks ‘manipulation’. You have to manipulate the double knee ratchets and the ball sockets in the feet to get Shuraking to hold securely.
Next pop the arms back on. Another key point about reattaching the arms. They’re counter balance weight act you have to do, to keep Shuraking from tilting over. In addition sticking to his ‘strengths,’ which his holding the most imposing, ‘About to kill ya ass, poses. I don’t know what it is about Shuraking holding the dynamic poses, but it sure does fits his motif. At times I think he’s possessed or the combiner realized that all my attention was on him.
Photogenic as hell!
Shuraking is the most photogenic combiner so far in my collection. Maybe it’s bling that makes him ‘burt-ti-dul’? I have taken over 100 plus pictures of him combined doing other stuff, mainly going to make some sfx edits and mean comment cards featuring Shuraking.
Without further babble here’s slide of Shuraking holding poses. I Some of the poses are repeats. I got creative and took shots of him wearing his predator mask. And took picture with him unmasked to him holding some GCI MP_Cubes.
The fifth and final member hammer arrived on my door step Friday afternoon. So I spent 2 to 3hours playing with him betwixt testing his QC in many transformations. And now let’s get on to the review.
The only thing bad about hammer is the absence of a heel spur. In my opinion it’s needed, I mean he can stand up and hold striking poses but he sits on the flat black piece on his feet. To clarify Hammer is two big toes and dull downed heels.
Good: There’s a lot of good about hammer. Starting with the QC. Gcreation took what they learned from blade and put it in Hammer. As for feet articulation he only has his gold toes. Full 360 movement on the head, ridiculous up and down articulation also easy three 360 movement on the waist and bicep swivel. In addition nice deep 90 degree knee bend along with solid thigh swivel as well.
Like his teammates Hammer comes with two swords, two guns and a big ass sword for him and Shuraking to use.
Unfortunately on the instruction they’re not crystal clear on how to it step by step. But here’s what I did. Specifically when you get to the legs and what position that will be a clean fit for the arms to peg in the side.
3. Have everything lined up then place the connector hand on to the black peg then close it. You will hear a nice ‘snap’. Do what I did see the grey peg on the right picture? Grease it down if you have to, so don’t apply too much force, don’t want to risk snapping this important piece.
On these pictures you might have to zoom in to see what I am talking about. Picture one that has the belly button hole plug the tiny grey piece into the hole. That will keep the Shuraking arm in place. Picture 2 on the right make sure you flip that grey peg into place too.
On these pictures I am showing you the optional peg in options. Stiff armed or pulled back arm. His arm is engineered well, ball joint and double hinge. You can manipulate however you like.
In closing I just wanted point out the key arm mode, since the instructions were so-so. From following this set. Gcreations started off a bit weak but got stronger with the three figures after the growl and thunderous. In my opinion Hammer is the second best next to Wrath in the set. Enough have fun with hammer and the combine mode.
Greetings! Finally got the last figure Hammer, to combine ‘Shuraking’. As usual I played with hammer first to test out the QC and all of that. Won’t go into detail about it. I will tell you later on ‘Hammers’ review. For now it’s all about Shuraking.
Beast mode to fullest
Shuraking is the biggest, imposing, heaviest combiner I have ‘ever’ worked with. For a combiner of his size and sheer girth I got what I paid for, 500 bucks of plastic creepiness. However Shuraking is not perfect and he’s not awful either. With that on the table let’s get right into the bad first.
Damn, the bad
For starters he’s very top heavy and moving him around becomes a bit of a chore. To be specific moving his legs. I had to retab his inner thigh dozen of times betwixt hold it when I manipulate the double knee joints to hold stances. Furthermore, his right foot constantly became undone when I moved the foot rockers as well. But I discovered a boo-boo, It wasn’t connected properly. WARNING: Make sure every tab in combine mode is secure if not expect Shuraking to fall. In addition I wager the legs of Shuraking should’ve been thicker or perhaps come with additional plastic panels to hold all the stuff in place. More so, you remember all the neat pictures Gcreations was showing Shuraking holding a low pose? I couldn’t do that with Shuraking, even taking advantage of the robust foot rockers and ball joint, Shuraking was not in the mood to hold a low pose. I really wanted him to hold a low run Adrian Peterson like shoulder charge on Gravity Builder. To be brutally honest with you I see why majority of folk that own Shuraking only have displayed standing in one place. Some will say he’s a statue combiner. Others , well like me will say you have to work with him for a while to find out what he can do posing wise.
For a combiner this heavy and all the bling-bling chrome on him, his articulation astonishes me. Shuraking posing is limited because of his weight. However he can hold running poses, walking poses and action poses with no excess fidgeting.
It’s all about shifting the weight in the right place and everything will lock into place. I took these pictures with 20 mph wind blowing all over the damn place. He actually held this pose with no problem. Thank goodness I found the center of gravity for these poses.
Uniformed colors, just standard red, gray, and gold and silver chrome to bring out the beauty is such a massive combiner. Gcreations has done bang up job on the Chrome. None of it is scuffed or flaked off over time.
Qc on Shuraking is where it matters the most unfortunate it’s not on the inner thigh where some fine tooling should be. To be frank the joints or strong and the connector ports are very stubborn here are some pictures to back my claim up.
Do I recommend him?
I don’t recommend him for ‘every’ collector because you’ll have to do get use to things tabbing out of place and being mindful when you test his articulation. He can be played with but be careful. He does make a good display piece if you just want to combine him and toss him on your shelf like a shelf collector. However judging from my experience it’s a toss up with Shuraking to be fully behind recommending him to any collector. To be honest, I don’t recommend him to first time third party collectors period. Just those who have been collecting for a while. I am letting you know what you’re going to be in for, if you want to get this set. To clarify here’s an example. You’re going to get into a fight with big guy. You’re ready and you know you’re going to take some blows and be sore as hell in the morning. When you get Shuraking be prepared to cleaning things up betwixt fidgeting to get him to pose how you want him too.
Going to be honest I am giving Shuraking a solid 6 and here’s why. The fidgeting and clean up became a routine for me to get him to pose. Along with finding out what he can and can’t do, I am not saying he’s the worse combiner ever. Just telling you my experience with a completed Shuraking so far. Although Gcreations first combiner I will say not bad but far from perfect. I will give Gcreations a job well done for sticking with this project. As for me I have to get use to working with him in full combine mode.Shuraking is photogenic and he’s fun to play with. If I didn’t like him I would be selling him immediately like I did FansProject Menasor, but that’s another story. Shuraking is good combiner his combine mode has really grown on me. Thanks for reading and enjoy the photos.
